Just watched the D-Day anniversary coverage last week on BBC. Dan Snow looked at a monster warehouse which held supplies for the invasion and was stated to be in Nottingham.

A web search took significantly longer than expected (relatively little on the infrastructure leading up to the event), and I eventually found Chilwell aka Chetwynd Barracks southwest of Nottingham which I suspect was the location I note this was National Shell Filling Factory No.6 in the Great War and has a memorial (not viewable by the public I suspect)

Now desperately trying to avoid getting sidetracked into a search for other D-Day Depots.
Plan A is always more effective when the problem you are working on understands that Plan B will involve the use of dynamite

From June last year. I chose this shot, despite the crowd as the devastated area was cleared and is now a peaceful garden.
